Not a bad question to ask ourselves in these 'early' days of AI. It's only been a couple years if that for most. And yet it seems like AI has ALREADY become an integral (and necessary? part of our lives.

While many people are okay with that, for others it's a bit concerning. Not to cast too much shade but I think it's important for people to have an on/off switch for their connection to AI and the outside digital world.

For data privacy AND peace of mind perhaps?

Peace of mind.

While most people simply don't have the wherewithal to know how to toggle on/off their connections to big cloud networks, Big Data, and even AIs now (can still just pull the plug and go dark for a while, right? right?), open-source software does offer hope and a solution.

Blaze your own trail.

Digital sovereignty and open-source go hand-in-hand. Specifically self-hostable open-source. That is in a nutshell what we offer at Little Librarian and what we have helped others in the county with.

We help organizations reduce their dependency on external cloud services, regain their digital sovereignty, and really just bring things closer to home.

Little Librarian is based in McDonough County, Illinois.

FAQ

What is digital sovereignty?

Answer: keeping track of your data, preventing unwanted use and abuse from those that harvest your data, and reduce your digital footprint online for the sake of privacy.

What is open-source?

Answer: open-source is open-source software, the library of the software world. It's often referred to as FOSS (free and open-source) with the free standing for freedom and the open-source (which is default FREE!) means that the code can be used, modified, shared by others. This is what Little Librarian gives everyone the ability to use. The nuts of bolts of tech, the not-so-easy (but worth it!) way of taking back your technology.

How does Little Librarian work?

Answer: You sign up and Little Librarian will help you with hosting your own cloud. On your own architecture. With lots of pre-configured tools (including the almighty single-sign-on functionality!) like notes app, kanban board, file manager, and so much more that I can't possibly list it all out!).

What's the catch?

Answer: No catch! Unlike Big Tech platforms and other predatory online platforms, Little Librarian mission is to simply help others with the fundamentals of technology, so they too can have options in our increasingly complex future.
